The Oberwirtshaus, built in 1864, was run as an inn and grocery store. Owned by Johann, Jakob and Josef Eder, it was acquired in 1884 by the Unterwirt Matthias Embacher for his son-in-law Josef Moshammer and sold to the Manzl family in 1908.
After the flood disaster in 1912, when the Unterwirt was completely swept away by the masses of water, Matthias Embacher again acquired the business. From 1932 to 1979 the inn was owned by the Rasser and Schernthaner families, and in 1949 a hall was added.
Today's "senior" landlady Klara Eder was employed as a waitress by the Schernthaner family for one year in 1968. It was here that she met the farmer's son Ernst Eder and they married in 1969. In 1969 Ernst and Klara Eder took over the business on a leasehold basis, which from today's point of view was quite a daring undertaking, as they were both still very young and completely inexperienced in business.
But with a lot of diligence and personal commitment they managed to do it and from the beginning they carried out extensions and improvements every year. After the purchase in 1979, the intermediate building was replaced by a new building and completed with a dining room after the acquisition of the vicarage. In autumn 1988, all the rooms of the Oberwirt were refurbished and brought up to a higher standard.
The hotel hall with day bar for house guests, built in 1989, was a further step towards completing the comfort. Since autumn 1992, the façade of the Oberwirt has presented itself in a bright yellow. In 2002, the spacious wellness landscape "Vitalia" was added, which offers relaxation to the guests of the Oberwirt on 200 m².
In spring and autumn 2006, the demolition and new construction of the so-called "Mittelhaus" enabled the installation of a lift. This comfort is especially appreciated when arriving with luggage. The new entrance and the superior rooms are well received, and some of the comfort rooms have also been refurbished and adapted.
In 2009, the dining room was extended and the west-facing terrace was built, in 2010 and 2011 the rooms in the Zwischenhaus and Haus Julian were renovated. In 2012, the carport was built, which offers our guests a lot of comfort when parking, especially in winter. In 2014, the Osthaus was expanded and spacious family rooms were added to the offer. In 2015, the family rooms and holiday flats in Haus Johann were modernised. In 2017, 2 floors were removed from the main house, rebuilt and very cosy rooms with a high level of comfort were furnished.
